AW... and a little panic attack

I'm half way - Whoo hooo!!!

However this has also thrown me into a minor panic attack this morning.  Are DH and I really ready to be parents??  We have done nothing but buy a changing table, and while I know we still have plenty of time and tons of people are at the same stage as we are - I feel like we are horribly behind.  I'm sure all of my fears are normal, having a baby is one of the biggest changes a person will go through, but OMG I'm freaking out today.

  • If it makes you feel any better, we haven't purchased anything at all.  The only thing we have right now is an inspiration nursery photo if the results tomorrow say its a girl.

The baby's room is currently filled with a bunch of furniture, boxes, and studio equipment.

  • Congratulations and don't worry! As first timers, we are given all the opportunities in the world to screw up, and we most certainly will. :)

  • YAY for half way!

I'm sure that everything you are feeling is totally normal, but you really do have plenty of time.  I mean if you're worried about having baby "stuff" ready, if you had to you can get all that in one trip to walmart, or BRU or wherever.

    Enjoy!

  • I am so with you. We have gotten a good bit of stuff (thanks craigslist!) but there is still so much to buy! I of course, feel like i'm not ready to be a mom either...we'll all wing it i guess!

  • If it makes you feel any better, we haven't bought anything but a couple of outfits I got the twins in Vegas!
  • Don't feel bad at all. The only thing I have is a glider my SIL gave me and a diaper bag I loved that was 50% off.  We are in the middle of a remodel and we have no furniture in our living room.  We still have to build closets in the bedroom, paint the entire house, gut the bathroom and partially gut the kitchen.  That doesn't even include the nursery that still has our old office furniture in it.  Everyone is in the same boat and we'll all be running around the week before the baby gets here trying to do that last few things on our To Do List.  You don't need fancy bassinets and matching furniture to be great parents--just a big heart.
