We watched Obama's speech last night and during the middle of it, MH grabbed Luc and sat him on his lap.  "See that man, Luc?  Thats our president.  His name is Barack Obama.  He's a halfsie like you."

It touched me in a way because, yes, I never thought I'd see the day when we'd have a biracial president and I'm happy that Lucas will never know a time when there wasn't at least one president who didn't look like him.  And it made me laugh with MH's use of "halfsie".  I think he made that up.

halfsie? Definitely never heard that one, and I have heard many, so I am willing to believe your H invented it.

and on a semi related side note, my father gets so annoyed when people refer to Toger Woods as an African American, he thinks they should use the term Asian American just as often.

Awww....the other cool part is that both halfsies are good looking.  Granted Lucas is a lot cuter, but Obama is handsome himself!
