I need sooo much help! I cannot design for the life of me (well, maybe I'm not THAT bad....), but I can't pick paint colors. You see... we have to pick paint for the following rooms...
So, any PIP of rooms that you LOVE would be awesome!!!
Background info: We have DD only so far, but plan on (hope for, PRAY for) another baby in the very near future (you hear that, eggs??? fertilize damnit!) and I have to paint the extra bedroom a color that would work for a future DC (gender neutral). Strange, I know. But we are renovating our entire house now, so colors have to be picked now. Won't have time to paint later (and really wouldn't want to). So, as you may be able to tell by DD's crib theme (Aloha Baby), we're not socially conforming with pink for girls, blue for boys...

So I painted her room like a light, bright aqua blue called something like Tropical Waterfall or something. Works for her decor of tropical fish and surfboards. But what color to paint the other rooms in the house? Our master bedroom is chosen already, and I'm guessing I'll paint DD's room a tropical color that would match her theme... or should I move her on since she'll be out of a crib in like 6 mos and stowe away the crib bedding for future DC? WWYD? Help!? TIA![]()

You can search here by color, room, style, etc. The whole site is awesome.
We have to paint our new house, too. I'd like to do a burnt orange for the kitchen, or at least an accent wall. I like "food" colors for kitchens/diningrooms. Rich greens, reds (though it's a tricky color), orange. Blue is the color of mold, so I don't think it belongs in food areas (weird, huh?).
Do you know what theme you want to do when DD moves out of her crib? Maybe you can find a color that works for both? A butter yellow would look good with the link you posted (though I don't personally love yellow). A celery green would also look great, I think.
Or maybe you could paint DD's room in a color that goes with her current theme, and then plan on moving futurebaby to that room. Then DD will get a new room that you can paint to match her new bedroom theme.
I like bold paint choices, so I'd do something daring in your guest bedroom, since you don't have to live with it every day.
Depending on the layout of your house, I like when entryways are a darker version of the livingroom color. I think it makes it more dramatic.
This is the color we have for our living room. Classic and looks great.

This is the color we have for our kitchen. Love it!

For gender neutral nurseries, I like colors like this...

I don't really know your taste, but I hth. Good luck!
OK this might not be popular, but it is the easiest. Paint the entire house one color. Make it neutral and then use your decoartions to bring out your style. It will make your life so much easier, every room will 'blend' perfectly, and you will never have to redo it.
Keep the kids' room a different color if you want, but if the bedroom is already done, and it is neutral, then I would just use that for the entire house.
So, this is the color of DDs walls now with the Aloha Baby crib bedding...

I like the celery green idea!
MOO: I have my entire house neutral now and it was easy and our decorations did bring out our style, but I'm getting sick of the same color all over. I feel like I live in a cardboard box LOL!
I love yellow, orange, or red for a kitchen. ?Our current kitchen is butter yellow w/dark teal accents. ?At our previous house it was red & orange. ?I love both!
Go bold & fun for the entryway & hallway. ?No one has to "live in" that space, so make it dramatic & exciting! ?Our entryway, hallway, formal dining room, & living room are a rich plum/burgundy that I LOVE (Raisin Torte from Benjamin Moore) ?(The dining room has white picture molding along the lower half of the walls & 3 of the 4 walls of the living room are a light tan, so it's not too dark!) ?Then we painted the little half bath off the hallway a really bright shocking appley green...I absolutely love it!
I am a fan of pale yellow, orange, green, or blue for bedrooms...something that's warm &/or soothing. ?Our master BR is a marigold color (a yellow-orange), the master BA is a periwinkle blue. ?The other 3 BRs are butter yellow (Benjamin Moore butter). ?Dh's home office upstairs (technically the 5th BR, but it's more of a loft-type space) is a pale green. ?Then the hallway upstairs is a vanilla color (pale, pale creamy yellow...BEnjamin Moore creme fraiche). ?The upstairs hallway bath is a green one shade darker than dh's office. ?I love how sunny, fresh, & cheery the upstairs looks & feels! ?(the greens are Benjamin Moore pale vista, potpourri green, & stem green). ?I have pictures on shutterfly...I'll try to dig up a link...
See if this works...

Also, benjamin moore's site has example rooms & you can click & change the colors of the walls, trim, accents, etc. to "try out" color combos. ?I used this feature to select colors for our house that I'd only seen once (we were living w/the ILs 1.5 hr. away after moving from WA to VA & buying a house we'd never seen in person!). ?I regret nothing!
?
That is a beautiful color! ?Our BR was that color in our previous house w/one chocolate brown accent wall. ?
