Who uses a crock pot a lot?

I'm making a roast for supper tomorrow night, but I'm not putting it on until tomorrow morning. If I prep everything in the insert tonight can I put it in the heating part cold and then turn it on, or do I have to do it all tomorrow morning? This is the first time I've ever used it. We got it as a wedding gift two years ago and I just took it out of the box!

Yup - I do it all the time! Prep the night before and just stick it in the holder/heater part tomorrow am!

Enjoy your roast - I have one in the freezer that I plan on doing the same thing to!

I would just do it in the am...when I do a roast I turn on the meat in the am, then add the carrots and potatoes later on...about 3 hours before we eat...because you don't want them to be too soft/overcooked!

yes. it may need a little extra time to cook though.

I am with married...but, if they are overcooked, it's no big deal.

Are you going to keep the insert in the fridge overnight?

Yea and when I get up with P at 6 or 7 I'll put it on. I'm using the hubs and ILs as my test subjects since I've never cooked a roast before hahaha.

It is SO easy in the crock pot. The first time I ever cooked a roast was in the pot too. And I just followed directions and VOILA!

I have a WW friendly enchilada crock pot recipe if you are interested. YUM-O!
