Does anyone else still feel like it is Christmas morning when you go to get your child? DD has been going for 18 months and I still get butterflies in my stomach when I am on my way to get her (or home if DH picked her up).
Last night I had to make myself stop running down the icey sidewalk I was just too excited. I felt like a child, lol...

Yes, I feel like I'm going on a first date!
and ditto Neeser! lol
I still feel this way and my baby is 3.5 years old. I literally cannot wait to leave work and at 5 I'm practically running to the car. I can't wait to get my hands on her!!! It is like Christmas morning. Although when I get into her room, I always pause because I love to watch her playing and interacting without knowing I'm there. But when she turns and sees me and her face lights up and she yells, "Mommy!" it's definitely the best part of my day.
The way I describe having a child to my non-mom friends is that it's like that feeling you have when you first fall in love. The butterflies, the constant anticipation, the obsessing about that person and thinking about them non-stop. That's exactly what it's like, but that feeling never goes away. (Although I hear it goes away when they become teens...ha!)
Ha! Me, too!
That genuine, euphoric reaction out of DD when she realizes I'm there is the best thing in the world!
My favorite "excuse" to make sure I leave work on time (if a meeting is running late) is to say I have to leave for an appointment... I don't finish the sentence, but it usually ends with, "with my kids!"
