Bring baby to hospital?

I have a friend having surgery today. It sounds like a bad idea, but would any of you bring your child with you to visit a friend in the hospital? She is having a hysterectomy. Part of me is like, well, she is not near the ER where there could be illnesses, the other part knows it is a hospital.

Thoughts?

Re: Bring baby to hospital?

  • DHs Grandma is in the hospital with pneumonia. There's no way I'd bring DS there. It's not worth it.

  • i wouldn't. ?i saw my friend in the hospital yesterday and did not bring my baby. ?some hospitals only allow your own children to visit you in the hospital (that was the case with mine), so you may want to check before you drive over.

  • I don't bring DD anywhere near a hospital if I can help it.  It's a total germ factory in there.  Plus, your friend may find it hard to handle you and a baby visiting since she will have just had major surgery.
  • Decision made! Gonna as DH to come home early instead!
  • MOST will not allow kids under 12 there unless it is a parent, too much risk of infection. The concern is not your kid, it is your kid infecting others.
