We moved from WA to VA this past October, so I'm still learning the area & have very few mommy friends here to ask which preschools are the "good ones". ?So far, I've gotten a few names of places & have set up tours, but on paper nothing seems like what I'm looking for. ?How did you find your dc's preschool & are you happy w/it? ?Also, how many did you tour/consider ?before making your decision? ?Any advice appreciated! ?
Re: how did you find your dc's preschool?
I was a member of the Moms Club (momsclub.org) and got recommendations from the women there. I wasn't even a frequent mom's club person but we had mass emailings and I mass emailed and got some responses back. The moms club in my area has only educated moms (not trying to sound stuffy, but it's true!) so I know they did their research. Then, I took what they recommended and did my own research and came to my own decision based on the recommendations by them and what was the best fit for my child.
Moms Club has chapters all throughout the US. I'd look into it - if nothing else, I feel that getting the recs. for a good, accredited preschool was invaluable!
