This kid is draining the calcium out of me so hard that one of my teeth just broke!
Ok, I doubt that's the real reason, but now I feel bad I haven't been guzzling the stuff down.
Owwww. It's one of my very back molars, so not a big loss (half of it came out!) but good lord! OW.
Re: Ahhh, drink your milk, ladies!
holy crap.
::runs down to get a glass of milk::?
holy god.
Okay I am a dental hygienist and felt obligated to respond. Pregnancy DOES NOT drain the calcium from your teeth!! This is an old wives tale. When the teeth form, the calcium is locked in. It cannot be pulled out.
Other factors may make you more prone to tooth problems during pregnancy, i.e. clenching your teeth from stress, not brushing well due to ms, etc.
Hope this helps. Sorry about your tooth. Please do get the tooth checked though as being broken can lead to an infection that could spread.
a BIG glass!
But not too much milk b/c as I learned tha hard way during my 1st pregnancy - excess calcium can lead to kidney stones in pregnant women, and trust me - that is NO fun.
I was guzzling milk, AND eating so many tums to calm my horrid heartburn, that I was plagued with the kidney stones.
Haha, she was probably just eating a bunch of junk food or sucking on hard candy a lot to prevent the m/s and that's how she got it.
Or like me and being so tired I keep falling asleep on the couch before brushing my teeth for the night
