Mine always burps but will fall asleep on my shoulder. Sometimes even after he is asleep the burp comes out if I leave him there.
DD #1 passed away in January 2011 at 14 days old due to congenital heart disease

I was having trouble burping my LO, and the lactation consultant suggested we sit her up to burp her. It almost always works. And if it doesn't, it sometimes helps to lie her down and sit her back up again. Something about that motion...

My daughter doesn't always burp. I totally get scared when I am feeding her at night, because I don't want her to choke, but she never does. She has spit up many times, but that is happening less and less.
