Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Vacation Ideas with a 14 month old

DH and I are thinking about planning a vacation.  We have a time share and we have two free tickets from frequent flyer miles.  Our DS is 14 months old now, so I am thinking that we will probably go on vacation anywhere from March/April through October.  I don't know where to go that would be kid friendly for a young toddler.  We could go to Disney, but I think he is too young.  We also have never taken him anywhere over night.   Ideas?

  • We're going to San Diego and plan on taking him to the zoo and some lego place. I don't think he'll care where we'll go so we really chose our destination based on what we like and I'm sure he'll have fun anywhere. So, imo, I'd pick somewhre you guys will like to go.  You know kids this young will have fun anywhere. GL

Ditto.  We've taken our kid(s) to St. Maarten (I was PG with #2) and Ireland on vacation -- places we wanted to go.  At this age they don't care & soon enough they'll be asking to go to Disney -- then you won't have a choice.  Enjoy this little freedom while you can!

  • I don't think he's too young for Disney! It's a GREAT trip with a toddler!!! We took DS at 9 months and again at 13 months and had so much fun. We go back next week and I can't wait!
  • My DH and I just planned a vacation last week to go to Beaches in Turks & Caicos.  Normally this would be totally out of our price range but it is 60% off and we had a free night plus free flights due to FF miles.    My DD will be 20 months at the time we go and childcare is provided as well as strollers and cribs, etc.

I know it sounds a little extreme but DH and I work full time so we NEED a nice vacation. LOL

  • San Diego is a great place for vacationing with toddlers. There's the Zoo, Seaworld, Legoland and of course beaches. Around that time it will be nice weather. I live in So Ca, but i haven't taken DS to Disney yet because the price is too expensive for both of us to go and if we do go, there're only limited things that you can do there with a toodler.
