Trash can liners?

Ok, I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't made the switch to resuable grocery bags yet but I think it's finally time. I feel like I have so much to lug with me...shopping cart cover, coupons/list, purse, not to mention the little munchkin himself. BUT I'm done making excuses & ready to make the switch.

Silly question though....I always use the plastic bags for our bathroom trash cans, what else can I use now?

Thanks gals!

Re: Trash can liners?

  • we don't use anything in the bathroom trashcans.  we just take it and dump it into the kitchen garbage when it's full.

  • Well, if you're like me - even when you have a sufficient supply of reusable bags, you'll still forget them once in a while. ?Or you'll make an unexpected trip to the store. ?Trust me, I still have PLENTY of plastic bags lying around!

  • I still use plastic bags to line the bathroom trashcans. Then when DH takes out the trash he dumps them into the big bag with the kitchen trash. If there's nothing yucky stuck to the liner it stays in the can to be used again. If there is something gross then it gets tossed too. Not the most eco-friendly but it's what we do for now. I dream of the day we have a house with curbside recycling and room for a compost pile.
  • I just can't do without liners in the trash....I buy ones made from recycled materials at the grocery.  I also do what pp said, dump out into the kitchen trash and "reuse" the liner if there's nothing yucky on it.

  • Ditto the others, plastic bags never really go away. You just stop drowning in them.

But dang, I'm impressed that you still use a shopping cart cover when he's over a year old! I gave up struggling with that way before then, but mine was always so frustrating.

  • Lol, I actually just recently got it too. That little stinker just snuck his mouth on the cart handle too many times & I cringed every time. I couldn't justify spending that much money on one but I finally got an awesome one on sale from etsy & it's really easy to use.

For anyone that's looking for one....
