Diapers are expensive!

I have heard you should stock up in advance so I bought a GIANT box today at BRU.  I am trying to prepared myself and although I knew before they would be pricey It is just now really setting in.

Re: Diapers are expensive!

  • Yeah we saw them on an endcap in Walmart today. They were $20 something for 68 diapers. DH was like "How long you thing that box of diapers would last?" Not very long!!!

I plan on BFing but we can't do cloth at daycare so we are just going with disposables.

Same here. My H went with my brother to buy formula and diapers for our niece and he was shocked at how much they were. At first he thought I was crazy to want to CD, but now it's all making sense.

I've planned to cloth diaper long before this...but my bff had a baby in December and told me one day she spent almost $200 on diapers that would likely last her maybe 2 months or so. OMG!

If you still want to cloth diaper, you can do it when  not in daycare, it will still save you some $$.  Some daycares are also coming around if pressed a little and showed how easy it actually is.

Oh my word!  That's nuts! Plus, CD have really changed lately. It's kind of fun to see what's out there.

Yeah no kidding! It's so much different these days. My friend gave me a few pairs of kissaluvs newborns today  and I am in love w/ them and have been researching more all night! haha It's a little addicting and sick.

  • I bought the giant pack at target ($29.99) and I just thought there would have been WAY more diapers in the pack.

Everyone keeps telling me to check out Sam's club, but I don't have a membership so I am not sure what the prices are for the numer of diapers.

  • I'm also planning on cloth diapering and putting my kid in day care. I understand some won't cd, but some will. I just figure that the kid is in daycare ~45 hours a week (40 hr work week, plus drive time). There are 168 hours in a week. The majority of the time, the kid is not in daycare, so cd'ing still makes sense to me.

Where did you get your cloth?  I was considering this option, but have had a really hard time finding them to check them out! TIA

This is a good idea.  I think I will look into this more.
