I was reading the little you and your baby handbook that my pedi gave me in the hospital when I had KJ and it says that if you BF to supplement with a soy-based formula. I EBF KJ and never had to supplement so this never came up with him. Of course I will ask the pedi prior to the birth of the babies, but I was just curious about some Nestie Mama wisdom.

I EBF each for several months and then supplemented with regular milk-based formula (Enfamil Lipil) which was recommended by their pedi and tolerated just fine.
Thanks, I could understand if they had a milk sensitivity and I had to cut out all dairy, but if they tolerated it just fine, I wasn't sure why I would have to cut it.

I BF and supplement. I've always used regular milk based Similac. I've never heard of having to use soy. My son has no bad reactions with the formula and his pedi never said anything about switching to soy.
