Great. Rotavirus "outbreak" at Nora's daycare.

She seems fine tonight, but can't the virus "incubate" for a few days until making its wondrous appearance? We haven't had the misfortune of dealing with this yet, and I really don't want to anytime soon if we can help it!!!

  • Did she get the vaccine?  DD is a month younger and got it, she was one of the 1st.  She still got it because she spit it out and they don't give it again.  It was absolutely brutal when she got it.  I hope you escape the wrath.
  • uh oh...I don't know the incubation but fingers crossed it avoids your house!  Start lysoling everything!!

  • Hmmmm....a vaccine? Good question. I sure hope she did....it sounds familiar but that could vary by state no?

  • DS got the vaccine and it was still not fun to deal with it (although I know it could have been a LOT worse), so I really, really hope she doesn't get it. Lordy.

  • The vaccine is oral and optional, so you would have to have approved her getting it.

  • The vaccine just helps the rotavirus not be so severe, it doesn't prevent them from getting it. I know DS's was a lot less severe than many other people's because of that vaccine.

    ITA !

DS had the vax and still got it too. We ended up in the ER with a 104 temp.

Hopefully she gets lucky and doesn't get it!
