Feeling Awful

Sorry for the vent but I'm so upset. I've been feeling so sick since week 6. I was hoping morning sickness (more like all day) would come to an end eventually but I still feel so sick all the time. I never have an appetite and I still throw up every single day. It's taking such a toll on me, I just feel like crying everyday. I mentioned it to my doctor at my appointment a few days ago and she basically brushed it off. She won't give me any medication because she thinks it'll end soon.

Re: Feeling Awful

  • Oh, I can not imagine. You poor thing! My cousin was sick as well... when she hit 17wks and it was still going strong her OB prescribed her something.

I would call back and insist on it.

  • I would say hey...im paying you. Give me drugs! There is no point in you being that sick!! My nurse mentioned giving me something for my sickness at like 12 weeks, but my ms went away. Good luck! Hope it goes away soon. If not theres no shame in calling and tryin to get something or some suggestions on what to take!!

    Hope you feel better!

  • I am surprised she just brushed it off.  There is a term for women who have severe morning sickness and there is a way to help take care of it although I am unsure of the name or of the remedy.  If you are really feeling awful I would hound your Doctor. And I mean HOUND.   I hate it when doctors just brush off a woman's concerns like that.

  • I would feel like crying, too!  I actually have similar problems myself.  It's called hyperemesis gravidarum.  I started throwing up a lot around week 7.  I could barely keep anything down.  I had to go on FMLA from work because I was too sick to work.  My doctor gave me prescriptions for Zofran, Phenergan, and Reglan.  The Zofran and Reglan did help, but some days are just worse than others no matter what.  I feel your pain!  Sounds like maybe your doc could do more for you, though.

  • Awww I'm so sorry! :(  I've had the stomach flu recently so I know what you're going through.  Try to keep something (anything) in your stomach, and stay hydrated.  Wishing you the best!
  • Oh gosh, I can't imagine.  I am so sorry.  Can you insist/throw a fit with your doc?  Or see another?  Or Confused get some from another reputable source?
