All this baby fever has me thinking back my my pg days and what it would be like to be pg again...I had a really smooth pregnancy and an easier labor!! I was induced 5 days past my due date and delivered R very quickly...so my question is, for those who's had 2 kids or more, would you say that your pregancies/births were different or similar?
TIA!
Re: For those who have 2 or more kiddies...
I can't fully answer that question but I can tell you that so far, both pregnancies have been identical (very easy). My birth will be similar too in that I'm having a repeat c-section

I've had two and the pregnancies were pretty different. With #1 I didn't have any ms or pg symptoms at all -- aside from a growing belly. I felt great the entire time. With #2 I was sick from almost day 1 until about 20 weeks. I was more tired, had a lot of joint pain & gained tooo much weight (well, I guess I could have controled that myself).
My deliveries with both were the exact same -- planned c-sections.
Recovery was also about the same. I actually left the hospital a day earlier with #2. The weight came off easier with #1, but BFing went smoother with #2.
35 hour induction w/ Alex - due to size, born on her edd. 8 lbs, 14 oz.
15 hour induction w/ Taylor - due to size, 16 days early. 8 lbs, 2 oz.
More hip/siatic pain with Taylor though I gained less weight. Both were very uneventful.
My pregnancies with my boys were different yet similar. Both were great pregnancies, #2 I was just exhausted 24/7. It was harder to care for a child being so tired.
Pregnancy #3 is going not so well. I was hospitalized for a week and had emergency surgery at 22-23 weeks pregnant. Now I get a ton of cramping. I cannot hold Hayden, if I do, its like 5 seconds then I hurt. I swear this girl is trying to kill me, lol
My pregnancies were very different (different cravings/aversions, more sick with #2, more complications with #2, carried different, etc)
L&D was totally different too. DD was 26 long hours of labor after my water broke, pitocin, failed epi, hour and a half of pushing. DS was born after less than 2 hours of labor with only 20 minutes of pushing. It was SO easy. I was up and walking around just after birth and went home the next day.
However, both kids were born at almost exactly the same time. DD was 3 days early, born at 9:23am. DS was 3 days early, born at 9:53am.
(m/c 1.17.07, m/c 5.15.07)
DS - 03.15.08
DD2 - 12.03.09
DD3 - 3.28.11
Both of my labors were fairly similar...
With my first child I went into an appointment 2 weeks before I was due and was 41/2 centimeters dilated. I live about 40 mins from hospital, so my dr. sent me to be induced. Went in at 4pm had her at 6:07 AM. I was pushing with her for 2 hours..
Second child went into an appointment 2 weeks before I was due, was 4 1/2 close to 5 centimeters dilated! Dr. sent me in to be induced at 1pm had her at 6:07 PM.... Pushed for 7 minutes.
Your labor with 2nd child is usually about half the time it took for your first.
Both of mine were pretty similar. with the second i was way more tired but i think because i had a 3 year old to take care of too. I did have a lot more pain toward the end of my second one though. also my first labor was 21 hours long but my 2 was only 4 hours so that was pretty cool
I had 2 easy pregnnacies and 2 easy deliveries. I think the hardest part of being PG with #2 was the exhaustion in the beginning and just being huge at the end...both were manageable and I survived
