Unfortunatly, most of the time the kids I see wearing diapers and tshirts dont even have on shoes or socks! I hate seeing that...and its not only WT its all shapes, sizes and colors.
I don't see a kid out in nothing but Pampers and a t-shirt that often, so when I do I assume that most likely something happened to the kid's clothes- ie: a diaper blow-out, a spill, etc.?
That being said, ?I live in a very crunchy town and it isn't unsual at all to see a toddler around town in the summer wearing a some sort of fancy wool cloth diaper cover, a tie-dye t-shirt, and Robeez. In those cases I just think to myself, "Damn hippies..." ;-)
I shake my head and feel sorry for the child, and secretly hope that it's an extenuating circumstance and that the adult in the equation is making a straight beeline for the children's department to get an outfit to put on the child.
I just equate it to be out in your underwear...yes, it's just a baby, but it's the principle to me. I also never take my babies out in public without at least socks on their feet, but most time they have always had on shoes.
I rarely see a toddler in just a diaper and t-shirt out in public. If I do though, I don't really think much of it because I have a toddler myself and know how difficult it can be with them sometimes. Sometimes I feel bad for the mom thinking something just happened...like he had a diaper blowout, peed on his pants and she forgot to pack an extra pair, he fought and fought about her putting his pants back on (toddlers can kick really hard when they don't want to put on pants!), or something like that.?
I live in Arkansas and I have to admit I think it's trashy. Babies in a onesie without pants, shorts, or a skirt is just as bad.
Jamaica, I think the same thing when I see parents bundled and their kids not. Or the parents bundled while their four year old is wearing crocs. We are their parents for a reason. Parent them.
My other pet peeve is a child who can walk but isn't wearing shoes. Now I say this knowing my son has always worn shoes (except when he was two months old and sick while we were flying) and never takes them off. So I know there are those kids out there who won't keep shoes on.
My DD has had major diaper leaks in stores before when I haven't had clean pants with me. Going bottomless in a diaper seemed to be a better choice than keeping her in wet, pee soaked clothing,
Re: Poll: wearing a diaper & tshirt in public?
Trashy.
But I also think poorly of people who have on winter coats and hats and their bebe only has on a sweater.

I think, "I hope that kid doesn't have a massive poopy diaper blowout."
But really, I never ever see a kid out in just a shirt and a diaper.

Trashy. I live in AZ where it's hotter than hell in the summer and that would still be tacky then. Yuck!
?
Just a onesie? ?You think that is trashy? ? You're kidding, right? ? What about summer babies??
