2nd Trimester

is anyone's hips hurting?

It's both hips and I walk around like a grandma!

Re: is anyone's hips hurting?

  • When I wake up they do, but not after.

  • If by hurting you mean causing excruciating pain, yes!! Its mostly when I first get moving for the day, or after I've been sitting for a while. OUCH!!

  • Mine are. Whenever I bend over too much or lift things I can barely walk the next day.
  • Oh yes, it's hell. Have you tried chiropractic at all? Mine has been a lifesaver. Some of this is because your hips & ligaments are stretching, which is not something he/she can completely help with, but mine has made my sciata & hip pain a ton better.

  • Definitely, especially at night and when i first get out of bed in the morning
  • Yes, especially first thing in the morning. The snoogle body pillow helps with the hip pain a little bit but sometimes I got myself untangled from it (like last night) and on those morning I wake up in a lot more hip pain then usual.
  • Me too! But it is just my right hip, it has been hurting for weeks.

  • yup. probably my least favorite part of pregnancy!  Mine hurt mostly when i'm sleeping.. the only thing that makes them feel better is walking around- go figure.

this time around it didn't start until later, thankfully- i guess b/c my hips are already stretched out from last time.

  • Mine hurt when I sleep.  They don't hurt when I'm laying on my back in bed (reading or whatever), but I don't sleep on my back so they always wake me up hurting.  I can already see me sleeping on the chair in the living room later on in the pregnancy.
    I HAVE CHILDREN.
  • No, and I totally attribute this to doing prenatal yoga a few times a week. The hip openers, squats and stretches that have really helped me not have much back or hip pain at all.

  • My right hip. I can't find a comfortable position to sit in so I keep getting up and moving around all day.

  • At times they do. Last night was bad.

  • Mine do if I sit for a longer period of time. I have to get up and walk around constantly while at work.

Which is the reason I started going last week. I've heard that as well, I feel silly being in there so 'early'...but I figure if it will help me in the weeks to come, bring it on!

  • I started at 13 weeks too and felt the same way about being there so early :)  I figured it was better to get into a routine before things started getting harder to do.
  • def. when im laying down (both sides). it's quite uncomfortable. :-
  • mainly if I have been sedentary for awhile.... working out has made a heck of a difference in loosening up so im not so stiff or achy.
