So I went into labor and delivery on Tues. b/c of frequent contractions. They monitored me, and although I am having contractions I was not dialated and everything else looked good. So they sent me home. No real answers. So I saw the Dr. today and she did a follow up, and everything still looks good, but I'm still having contractions, and they are getting more painful. I expected her to give me a No Work order b/c I'm a teacher, and its clear that doing stuff is aggrivating the contractions, but no such luck, she just told me to come back to L&D if I have 6 in and hour. So I go to work, and by this afternoon I have 6 in 45 min. So I go back in and all they do is monitor me and send me home! What do I do? I'll just end up back in there tomorrow, and I'm missing so much work, and loosing money!
Re: Contractions at 26 wks... Long
Ugh, I'm so sorry! This must be so frustrating for you! I would say that if you do have to go back tomorrow to call your doc and tell her that this is not ok and that working is becoming an issue, and that you need a do not work order because it is negatively affecting your work. GL!
Oh no!! You poor thing! I can't believe your Dr is taking this so lightly. I would have thought she/he would have kept you out of work, or something.
Definitely don't go to work tomorrow if you are still feeling this way. You have to take care of yourself and that baby. You know your body better than anyone.
Keep us posted.
That's very scary. I'm very surprised they didn't give you a no work order. Is it possible to call in sick tomorrow or take a vacation day so you can rest for three days straight? Take care of yourself. Drink lots of water too.
That sucks! It is so confusing. Call the doctor and express your concerns again. Hopefully they will figure something out.
And I hear you about the teacher thing- we do so much during the day that puts added pressure on our bodies. What area do you teach? Maybe there is a way to reduce the amount of time you are walking around the room?
