Re: 14 month biting

  • My DD bit me today in the doctors office in front of her pedi! At first I was a little embarrased but then I was glad she did because the pedi told me how to respond to it. I was holding her at the time and she said to ignore it, immediately put her down and not make eye contact for a few moments. She said that telling her "no" is a waste of breath and that it should be saved for more important safety issues. We're going to give her suggestions a try! HTH!!

  • I tell DS no biting and push him away, put him down, or separate myself from him in some way.  It only took a couple of times for him to get the point.  Now he will put his teeth on me but not clamp down.  I try hard not to laugh, but when I tell him no biting, he backs off.

I feel your pain, those little teeth are sharp!!!!
