Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

20 months and restaurants - high chair, booster or kneeling???

My DD tends to sit/kneel in our chairs at home and does not sit in the booster we have for her anymore (cushee).  When we go out to eat, we usually request a booth and let her kneel intermittently with standing and whatnot and she does fine.  What does everyone else do for this age group?  Just wondering...

Re: 20 months and restaurants - high chair, booster or kneeling???

  • Mine is 21mo and I still mostly use a high chair out at restaurants.  Sometimes a booster if it has a strap across it.  I don't know about you, but I've got two kiddos (my oldest is 4) so having one strapped in has served me well :o)  Sounds like your DD stays put nicely when you're out & about- if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it!!

  • Alexandra was in the high chair basically until her sister needed it - at resturants.  It seemed dumb to have 2 high chairs, so Alex sits on a chair - she hates the boosters.
  • We are only at 13 months but with DS we do a combo.  high chair and standing on the booth.  He LOVES his high chair at home but only show a limited amount of interest in high chairs out at restaurant. HTH
