1. (minor) Lila starts MMO tomorrow morning. She's been old enough since November and I just got up the nerve to sign her up. I've heard nothing but good things about the program, it's through our park district, and I really think Lila will be fine, but I'm still nervous about dropping her off and leaving. She goes to gym daycare 4 days/week, but I'm in the building. I also don't know what to do with myself for two hours tomorrow morning.
2. (hopefully minor) Lila is having poop issues and today I called a pedi gastroenterologist and the nurse agreed she needs to be seen. The good thing is that the were able to get her in next week, but I'm nervous. I want to figure out what is going on with her, but I don't want them to find anything wrong, you know? Plus, they requested her growth chart which makes me more nervous because she is extremely small (3% for weight).
I'm sure everything will be fine for both...I just wanted to get it out. Thanks for listening.
Re: two things I'm nervous about
Oh A. I'm sorry these things have you worried. I'm sure L will have a blast at MMO and you will enjoy the break!
as far as the gastro--it's probably nothing, they are just covering all of their bases. is she constipated? what is the issue?
xoxo?
Re #2, I think it will be nothing but positive. It is nervewracking to wonder if something is wrong, so best case you find out nothing is wrong and worst case it is always better to know than to wonder and take steps to help her feel better. Good luck!
Re #1, Kate has been in a MMO type program since 19 months. The first 5 or so times I dropped her off she cried, but now she LOVES it, and she has benefited so much from being around other kids, listening to adults who are not me, etc. I belt Lila will love it, even if the initial adjustment is hard.
1. I'm sure she'll love it and you'll find something to do. Manicure, Hair, shopping, sleep. I could go on!
2. I'm sure she'll be fine but would you mind sharing the issues. B has some poop issues but I always thought they were normal. She's also in 2-5% in weight.
She's not constipated, but she cries every single time she goes. Like lays on the floor crying in pain. I took her to the pedi and they said it was psychological from when she was constipated for ONE day a MONTH ago. I just don't think that's all it is.
Oh no, poor baby! Sounds like her doc is right.
Does she go in the potty or the pamper?
Right before B stopped going in the pamper, she had a hard time going, it was awful for her in the pamper and hurt. I finally convinced her if we tried it on the potty, it wouldn't hurt her anymore.
She's still in diapers. I have a potty seat and she's sat on it a few times, but nothing regular. I've asked her if she wants to sit on the potty when I can tell she has to go and she says no. I don't want to force it because I don't want her to associate the potty seat with being in pain. It's definitely something I plan to talk to the dr about next week though.
I hear ya! I tried not to push it either but did bring it up every time she did go and then was in pain and afraid to move. Finally, one day she decided to do it and she never looked back. It was on her own terms though.
Good Luck, I hope she feels better!
