RP: Allergic to Tomato's?

One of my friends asked me if I ever heard of a tomato allergy.  Her son's belly gets a red rash on it when he eats certain foods, and she thinks she's figured it out as tomato's.  Any ever heard of this being an issue?  He's 18 mos.

    my ds gets a rash around his face when he eats tomato sauce or anything real acidic...I don't think I've heard of it on the belly but I'm sure it could happen.

    My daughter gets this too. The ped said it was very common for 1 - 2 year olds.  I still give my daughter tomatoes, I just wash her face after she eats them.

    My DD is allergic to tomatos. We noticed it and narrowed it down when she was about 18 months old. She is 4 now and still has a rash show up on her tummy if she has fresh tomatos. We've noticed she can have tomato sauce without it affecting her, but anything with diced tomatos causes the rash. DD#2 is only 14 months, we've decided to hold off on giving her any until she is a little older.
