Have you met/do you know your birthmother? Were you part of a closed, semi-open, or open-adoption?
(I think your daughter is really cute, too!)
It was a closed adoption. At 18 I contacted the adoption agency and put on file that I would like to meet her. They contacted her and she declined, which I completely understand as she was only 18 when she had me and now has a life of her own I am sure. The reason I was contacting her was to find out about my birth father who doesnt know I exist as far as I know and I wanted to give him a chance to have the option.
I would like to say to all parents looking to adopt please tell your children they are adopted. I have know as long as I can remember and have never had a problem with it. Two of my friends found out around 18 and it was very tramatic for both of them. Its normal to you when you find out young not so much at 18.
Thanks for the complements of my daughter.

Thanks for answering my questions. I'm sorry that your birthmom didn't want contact. I can completely understand you wanting your birthfather to have the option of meeting you.
We plan to be very open about the adoption with our child, right from the start. I can't imagine it any other way.
Thanks for sharing your story!
