2nd Trimester

Calf pain!

OMG. The past 2 days, I've felt like I was going to get a Charlie Horse in my left calf. I've been working the kinks out and drinking OJ and eating Bananas like crazy to up my potassium, but holy cow, it hasn't worked. I've got such crampy calves right now. They are so tight that they feel like little rocks in there.

Ugh. Anyone else having them?

Re: Calf pain!

  • I have them really bad from working out... I never got them before when working out.

  • i've been getting them too, but only in one leg and it's always the same one!! try to stretch it out. i think i read somewhere that flexing your legs before bed and pointing your toe or something like that can help. not sure if it actually does though!

  • I've had a few in my calves, but not more than usual.  I am getting a ton of cramps in my toes though.  I think I need more potassium.  I don't eat enough bananas.  Tongue Tied

  • ouch!  I got a really bad one last week.  Luckily DH has played soccer for years so he knew exactly how to massage my calf to make the pain go away.  He pulled back really hard on my toes (to flex the foot) and gave me a deep muscle massage for at least five minutes or so.

Apparently the trick to not get one in the first place (in addition to water and potassium) is to avoid pointing your toes while stretching -- easy enough during the day but not really something you can keep from doing in your sleep.

  • I get awful leg pains/cramps. I asked about it at my doctors and he told me icyhot is ok to use on my legs.
