2nd Trimester

I don't know if I should get Med or Large?!?!

I'm going to buy a dress and a pair of pants from ON.  I'm normally a size 8-12 depending on the outfit.  With my last pregnancy I BLEW up and gained nearly 60 lbs so I was seriously buying things in size 16 in maternity at the end.  It's still early and I haven't gained as much weight at this point than I did then, and I'm really trying to make sure it stays that way.  I need the pants for NOW, but would like to wear them through the spring.  I bought a pair of size 10 pants from ON and still can't wear them because they're so big. AHHH what to do?!?!  Just tell me what to do and I'll do it because my decision making skills are shot...did I tell you that I told someone it was 2007 yesterday?  Yeah, that's how bad I am right now.  Ok, blabbing...TIA!

Re: I don't know if I should get Med or Large?!?!

  • Sorry Honey - I'm in the same boat =/

    With DS I started out at a 6-8 (med-range) so that's what I bought...by the end of my pg with him I was  more a large/XL =/

I'm honestly not sure what size I am now...I have yet to go back and try on my size-med mat. pants.

I keep perusing ON too...but not sure what size to get. I too, do not want to gain as much as I did before (50+) so I'm hoping in the air and VERY indecisive too.

  • I'd go Medium. I'm wearing an XS in old navy maternity now, and I would normally buy a S pre-pregnancy. I absolutely hate the feeling of saggy pants though and prefer a fitted look. I think the maternity sizes at ON run generally larger than the normal women's clothing (and I dont just mean the waist band). Good luck!! I think you can also return/exchange in store if you buy online.
  • I wear a size 8-12 pp also depending and I ordered large from ON. Everything seems to fit fine. I've bought 3 pairs of pants, a dress (it's a little big right now) and several shirts.
  • My latest reasoning: I'd rather the pants fit, if even a little big than not at all.  So I think I'm going to get Large, but Med in the dress...I think.

  • I just got my ON order. ?I'm like you, fluctuate between an 8-12, and am usually a comfortable ten. ?The denim skirt I ordered in size large is way too small (ghetto-booty in it), but the jeans in size large are too big, so I'm returning both of them. ?

I'd go medium. ?You can always return!?

  • My medium dresses fit great.

  • I'm normally a 8-12 as well, and I wear large ON tee shirts. I'm planning to buy the blue version of the dress you posted yesterday (the orange one) and I'm going to get a large. The sizing chart puts my boobs in the low large range, and with that style dress I think that's the biggest concern.?

If you order a large and it's a wee bit too big, you can always have it altered for not too much $. If it's too tight you pretty much have to return/exchange it. That's my thinking anyway. ?
