If this is your first baby, I say wait and make it a surprise! It's so easy to have plenty of onesies and unisex clothes ready to go, and with your first baby especially, people go nuts buying you clothes when the baby is born. We didn't find out the sex and I had pink coming up to my eyeballs within a week of DD's birth. There is nothing like finding out after delivery - such a wonderful present after the work of labor. Plus now we are expecting baby #2 and our nursery is green and white, perfect since it could be a boy or girl! (We're moving DD to her own room, which we made super girly and pink!)
We did for DD and the twins. During delivery, much to my OB's annoyance, I was saying my baby's name out loud b/c I wanted her name to be the first thing she heard when she came out. It was awesome.

were having a surprise i normally dont like surprises but for some reason DH and i dont really ?have an intrest in knowing one day its like oh are you a girl today or acting like a boy lol
I was present for my nephew's birth. We knew it was a boy and his name was Jack Ryan. I am not AT ALL taking away from the miracle of birth.... but I think it would have been a lot more exciting if we wouldn't have known the gender. Kind of anticlimatic if you will.
But it's different for everyone. GL with your decision.

My husband and I plan to find out the sex but DON'T plan on sharing with others. I'm not saying it will be easy (I could slip up) but we want to know. I said to him "I waited 38 years to get pregnant... I want to know!" Meaning I'd been patient all these years but no more. I figure waiting 16 weeks is enough (found out I was pg at 4 weeks).
let the baby decide for you. if it wants you to know what it is it will let you see.like our baby had it legs crossed and that was like i'm not tellin.....but we are going to try to find out what we are having with another U/S.
We decided not to know for our first. Now that we are shopping for nursery items I do see how knowing woudl make it easier, but nonetheless we opted against it and we're happy we did.
We will find out but seal the u/s results for a special surprise outside of the doctor's office. With DS, we did it on Christmas. This time we will do it during a weekend getaway.
I have always wanted to find out. MH was on the fence. He decided a couple of weeks ago that he does want to find out. So we are going to find out on March 4.
Re: Find out baby's sex?
I am so glad we found out. I feel like I can bond with her more before she is born and prepare better for her arrival.
DH and I are much too nosy to not find out

Make a list of the reasons that you want to find out and the reasons that you don't. That might make it easier.
We found out:
1. I am a super planner
2. I wanted to have a name picked
3. I wanted to decorate the nursery not neutral
4. I wanted to buy gender specific clothing and items.
