Cramping at 20 weeks

On Thursday I went in to L&D for monitoring (doc told me to go) because I'd been having cramping all day long. After two hours, the nurse said that it was normal and that it was likely just a growth spurt and the ligaments hadn't had a chance to adjust yet. She checked my cervix and sent me home. I also had a follow-up with my doc on Friday who said the same thing. Now, today, the stupid cramps are still around, and they are painful! Since they're supposedly normal, and are not accompanied by spotting of any kind all I can really do is take it easy and increase my fluid intake, but is there anything I can do about the pain? The recommended Tylenol isn't helping. Can I use a heating pad?

TIA

Re: Cramping at 20 weeks

  • I had this same problem early this morning and they told me to use heat, but just not excessively.  I took the Tylenol extra strength, but still hurting now, just not as strong, drank a lot of water and rested and that helped a little bit.  Good luck and I hope it gets better for you.
