DD has pink eye and now I think I am getting it.

Crap!!!!  I have washed my hands a million times. Change the sheets and wash all blankets in this house. But my eye are starting to hurt and are red. Does anyone know if the drops are safe to use while pregnant. What about the OTC ones since tomorrow is Sunday?

I cannot answer your question for you but good luck--I hope you do not have it.  I know how you feel but mine was not wanting the flu that DD had for 5 days and thankfully DS did not get it either.

DS just had it - and I got it, too- but caught it early and did use drops for it- so i only needed like 2 days and it's gone now. here's info on Vigamox, what we were Rx'd.  Basically- it's a C category b/c there were some effects- but in VERY VERY high oral doses in animals.... a few drops for a few days will not in any way be = to what these animals were given.  many drugs are pg Cat C and given commonly to pg women (i have been on a few myself with my first pg and this one)

Pregnancy Category C: Moxifloxacin was not teratogenic when administered to pregnant rats during organogenesis at oral doses as high as 500 mg/kg/day (approximately 21,700 times the highest recommended total daily human ophthalmic dose); however, decreased fetal body weights and slightly delayed fetal skeletal development were observed. There was no evidence of teratogenicity when pregnant Cynomolgus monkeys were given oral doses as high as 100 mg/kg/day (approximately 4,300 times the highest recommended total daily human ophthalmic dose). An increased incidence of smaller fetuses was observed at 100 mg/kg/day.

Since there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, VIGAMOX? solution should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
