My last pregnancy we found out when I was either 14 weeks or 17 weeks. I think it was for sure the 14th only because it was my first pregnancy appointment (It took me forever to get moved back to Kansas) and they did a sono just make sure everything was okay...and they could see right away.
I'm hoping we can find out that soon again. I've read online some people were able to see at 12 weeks. I wasn't sure on the accuracy though, I assume it was accurate. My books say the parts become visible about that time.

Baby BOY!
DD -- 5YO
DS -- 3YO
12w2d with both my pregnancies - both were accurate - but both were also all boys - which are easier to spot that early on.
12w is the earliest you can tell - but even then it's still so early any good US tech will say it's not 100% by far.... esp if they guess girl.
my DS was confirmed boy at 20w... and my twins confirmed boys at 16w and again at 20w.
It really depends on when you can get an u/s. I have never heard any earlier than 14 weeks, but it was also with reservation. They were never completely sure, and I personally wouldn't feel good about trusting the results of something that isn't very accurate due to the fact of it being so early.
Normally people here find out between 18 and 21 weeks at their level 2 u/s.
Let's try this again...
At 12.5 weeks the u/s tech for our NT scan said she was leaning towards boy, but at that stage it could be a swollen clitoris. We had another u/s at 18 weeks and 19 weeks which both said boy. Our amnio results confirmed boy.
ETA: With DD we were told girl through u/s at 18 weeks and again at 27 weeks. We had an u/s with her at 13 weeks, but they didn't even make an attempt to guess the sex.
She probably means 2d, that's what most DRs use.
This is the u/s done typically around the 20 week mark. They are able to see all 4 chambers of the heart. Its not the 3d/4d u/s. It can also be called the growth/anatomy scan because they take a look at all the parts and make sure everything looks fine.?
I have my big u/s scheduled and I'll be 20w3d.
We had the NT scan at 12w4d and the tech did throw a guess (boy) but she also said that at this point it could really be anything. If it turns out to be true it will be just a concidence... after all you have 50% chance of guessing right, right??
18 weeks, 5 days.
I wouldn't trust it before 16 or 17 weeks. Not that you can't see, but that it just isn't that accurate at 12 weeks... or 14.
I guess if you don't mind them taking a stab at guessing at 12 or 14 weeks and having that end up incorrect later, go for it. For me, I wanted to be sure, so I waited until the big U/S.
Estimated 70% guess at 13w3d
Confirmed 99.9% at 20w2d
