Ladies,
I had Playtex Ventaires for my DS almost 4 years ago and found that cleaning them had it's problems. There was this rim under the top of the bottle that seemed to collect formula and it was almost impossible to clean... so when we were through with them, we tossed them.
I want something easy to clean and not a ton of parts to keep track of. So, I'm not wanting Dr Brown bottles. Anything anyone has read about being great? Have experience with ease of cleaning??? Anyone able to look up the recommendation in Baby Bargains book????
Thanks.
Re: Bottles.....for formula feeding only....
I used those bottles with DD too. They were ok. My SIL just had her 3rd baby and she called me today to specifically complain about the Avent bottles. Said that even though they have been redesigned that she has a really hard time getting them not to leak. She said it's worse in the middle of the night she you're trying to mix a bottle at 3 am, that formula ends up everywhere. She was talking about going out and buying a completely different set.
We had VentAires for DD and never had that problem. We loved them. Maybe they changed the design?
I've heard of people having problems cleaning the Dr Brown's too, b/c there are so many parts. You could also look at Playtex Drop Ins.?
When I watched my cousin about 10 years ago, we always used Platex drop ins. I really liked them back then and I'm happy to see that they haven't changed. She was on formula and they were super easy to clean up. I plan on using the same for our kids.
Also, we have used the Ventaires for my two nephews (the second one is just going to cups) and we never had a problem, both have been on formula. They were washed in the dishwasher though, and I'm not sure if you're doing the same.
Good luck whatever you decide.?

Baby BOY!
I used Playtex drop-ins with both of my children. I really loved them, the only downside was always having to buy the drop-in's. Fortunately, another brand..Parent's Choice, I think, came out with drop-in's that are cheaper and fit in the Playtex bottles.
