I'm not a fan. You can find out the gender... and now you can know what your baby will look like? What about the moment when the baby is born? What's left to know?
We're not finding out the gender so I'm big into surprises

We're debating this. Friends of ours were told they were having a girl at their u/s, but told it was a boy at their 3D u/s. They had a boy! I just want to be sure of what we're having...

I had my 20 week ultrasound at the hospital where I will deliver, and they do the regular and 4d at the same appointment. Very cool. I thought it was less creepy than the regular one but my DH liked the regular better. I would not have paid extra for it, that's for sure.
My dad told me that I cant have one done unless it is at a hospital ( alot of places that do this are private places) because they havent really studied if it does anything to baby.. Plus I dont think that I want to spend the money on it.. They are neat tho, creepy if you get them done to soon!!

I was never tempted to get one with my first two pregnancies, and I thought the pictures of them looked creepy-- like something you'd see from the ruins of Pompei. ?But at my big ultrasound this time, they switched over to 3D for a minute and got a couple of face shots, and it was amazing to see this baby's face. ?Add that to my doubts about the accuracy of the gender prediction, and I was very tempted to pay for another 3D u/s. ?I ultimately decided our money was better spent elsewhere and that I could wait.
My doctor's office is able to do 3D u/s, but they don't come out well until they are bigger and in a good position. The tech tried the last time but it just looked like clay, she said it wouldnt come out because of his age and postion
With DD we didn't and I am glad. Now that we have the "real thing," we haven't once looked at any of her sonogram pics. We won't for the twins, either.
