meeee! For one, he's in Cancun and I'm home. Also he was a wrestler in college when we met and had to cut weight and could not eat anything. We went to dinner once and he just watch me eat....I felt so bad, from then on it just became a movie renting night with no food of any kind involved. Now, I just don't like it b/c you should appreciate each other every day and not just the one day each year. Also, I feel the holiday is a slap in the face for single people, so I don't like it much.

DH and I usually do cards. This year we are going out to dinner with friends we haven't seen in forever! Other than that nothing. He left the house at 8 this morning and won't be home until 5. I have the whole day to myself cleaning!!
Not that we don't care, but we don't really go all out. This is our 5th Valentines together too and I honestly don't really see a point in it. I mean we get each other stuff thoughout the year. This year I told him to skip the gifts. We went out to dinner last night instead of today and he did get me something! 3 fruit trees! I had been complaining that I wanted some fruit trees in our backyard and he got me an Orange, nectarine, and appricott! He is planting them right now. So by next summer we should have some fruit growing!
we are going to see a play tonight but we would have gone no matter what. we exchanged cards but that's it. he's actually sick in bed and i've been taking care of him. i brought my DH a tray of food in bed on valentine's day...a bit of a role reversal! BUT he did buy the play tickets. I hope he's feeling better by 8pm!
Fruit trees! That is an awesome idea! I can't wait to have a yard!
Yeah! I love it... I want to get two more, but I am still debating between apples, peaches, lemons, and pears. I think I could do without the pears but I can't make up my mind wiht the other three. Why is your hubby in cancun?
We usually do cards and stay home and make dinner together. I am on bedrest right now, so MH is going to make dinner for us and we are going to watch a movie. MH did surprise me today with a gift certificate for a prenatal massage, which I wasn't expecting at all and was very thoughtful of him. I look at it this way, we celebrate each day our love for each other and don't need a "special holiday" to do that.
He is in a wedding of one of his college friends (mine too). B/C I can't take Dramamine while PG and we have nobody to watch the pooch, I had to stay home. We are also saving for a house....so I can have fruit trees too! I think I would go with apples...but it depends on what kind. I love macintosh and granny smith...both make good pies and apple crisp!

We're not really into it either....we work together so I just got him a card and some chocolate covered strawberries from the supermarket and took them to his office yesterday. ?He didn't expect it; he hadn't gotten me anything and he felt bad but it really didn't bother me. ?I wasn't expecting anything. ?We had spent quite a bit of money to join a couples retreat (which we're in at the moment) at the beach and it's awesome because all our friends are here. ?Having a great time. ?So that's how we're enjoying our valentine's weekend....relaxed. ?Besides, I hate going to dinner since everything is usually packed and the flowers are really over priced.
I'm into it but at the same time i'm not. I think next year when the baby is here I will just be like "whatever.." lol I like for me and my FI to atleast get each other a card though, just to say "I thought about you today.." even though that is completely lame!
I'd rather have him be romantic on another day and have it be spontaneous instead of expected. That being said...I still have to hint for some romance most of the time around here
We always do dinner but not big gifts (well, okay this year he bought me a car. LOL) But, we don't exchange cards or make a huge deal out of it. It's just a good excuse to leave DS with the ILs for the wkend and enjoy a nice dinner together and some alone time. It's definitely not the day that I expect DH to be the most romantic. He is good at that stuff all year around.
DH and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day either...you're not alone! We are going to be bums and watch college basketball all evening instead of fighting the dinner crowds.
We're over the Hallmark holiday as well. We exchange cards, but that is it. Personally, I don't need a holiday to show DH how much I love him and vice versa.
Actually, if he came home with a dozen roses I'd be pissed because I'd know they were marked up 4x more than the normal price!
Our anniversary is in mid-March and that is our big "love" holiday. We go all out (fancy restaurant, movie, small gifts, etc.).

Today's Valentine's Day? I thought it was just Saturday. LOL
DH and I met and were married on Friday the 13ths, so we always use that as a special day for ourselves. Last night was it for us!Baking Blog
