Positive AFP Test and U/S Update

I posted last week that they brought me in early for an U/S bc I had high levels on my AFP test.  They said that everything looked really good and they didnt find any markers for downs.  However, they are going to send me back for a Level II in a couple of weeks.

I also found out that I am having a little girl!  We're so excited but I was surprised!  I thought from the beginning it was a boy.  I have 3 brothers and my DH has 7, no sisters on either side!  She already has her daddy wrapped around her finger.  We are naming her Melissa which is a family name but will call her Lissa for short.

I was hoping you would post an update soon. I am so glad the u/s went well. I am sure the last week has been so stressful for you but hopefully you can relax now. Congrats on your little girl!

I am glad it went well!  I went through the same thing last weekend except for spina bifida.  We found out on Wednesday that the spine and abdomen looked fine and that we were having a boy!  Congrats on the healthy baby and a girl!  She'll get a lot of attention being one of the few females in the fam;-)
