Cancelled V-Day Dinner :'(

DH and I made reservations for V-Day a couple of weeks ago thinking that we could probably afford dinner plans.

*background note is that I haven't been working since being put on bed rest at 11 weeks that lasted 6 weeks (wasn't able to go back to work/find a job) and so DH is the only one working now.

After taking care of the bills and seeing what was left, dinner plans had to be cancelled. I am bummed because I was looking forward to having a nice dinner with DH and get our minds off the pregnancy issues.

  • I understand the feeling.  Maybe try something a little weird but different.  Go out to eat at McDonalds, but dress really nice and bring candles and china and silverware and enjoy your cheap dinner, but make it a little extra special.  I don't know, it's just an option!  Good luck!
  • Ditto for me too... No job since December and ugh...ya...sucks. I'm sorry you don't get to do dinner. Maybe DH will make a nice dinner??!?!

I know, it's corny, but you definitely won't forget it!  LOL.  Or you could just grab McD's and go to a park and set up your wonderful dinner.  Sorry, don't know where you live, but it's do-able here where it's not so cold!

  • Thats so sad! Well now you two just have to make the best of it! have a romantic picnic in the living room and just enjoy each others company....it could be better then going out and spending a fortune anyways :)

     have a great v-day tomorrow!

Corny is good sometimes...might be too much of a far strech for me...I don't have the balls to pull something like that off...I wish I did though...lol. Smile

The park idea isn't bad but it is so damn cold here in WA at the moment. I am sure that we will come up with something that isn't going to break the bank...

  • I'm sorry, maybe you guys can have a nice dinner at home.
  • How about getting a frozen lasagna or something from the grocery store, and having a candlelit dinner with some sparkling cider? Put on your favorite music, and just revelling in each other? Idk, its a $15 idea lol, but its still memorable :) whatever you decide I hope its a great day for you both!
