So happy- friend said she is throwing me a sprinkle

I didn't get to go to my baby shower for DS b/c i was in the hospital with kidney stones... I went in at 4am the day of the shower so it was too late to cancel/postpone- so DH went instead of me. It really bummed me out and has since made me really sad to know i missed such a special day.

I didn't expect anyone to throw me a shower or sprinkle- esp since i'm not having any girls, and we really don't have much that we need other than big stuff that i'd never want someone else to purchase...

last night a friend (who i threw a sprinkle for when she had her 2nd, opposite sex baby), said she wanted to throw me one! I'm so happy- just to have a little party to celebrate these babies is so nice.  I told her to make it super low-key... maybe just diapers, etc.... gifts don't matter to me- just happy that i will finally (hopefully!!) get to go to one of my OWN baby showers

now- just praying that nothing keeps me from this one! She was thinking early April... hoping I am not on bed rest or get kidney stones again!!

it's like a little shower... usually done for a 2nd + baby when not much is really needed- just a fun little party to celebrate the new baby, etc... we have had a few for friends when they have had a child of the opposite sex for their 2nd or 3rd, etc.

a "spinkle" is a low key "shower"...like gail said..people buy little things like diapers maybe an outfit or 2 since most people already have the big stuff leftover from their 1st baby (of course twins are different!)

Ahh, I get it.  A sprinkle, little bit of water, versus a shower.  That is such a cute idea!

that is so cute!! i have never heard it reffered to as this but I love it! All babies are cause for a party...2nd..3rd..whatever

btw..DH said the name was familiar but he was not sure..I am going to ask someone else that i am pretty sure will know who is is.

Aw - yay!  And "sprinkle" -- tha t is so cute!   I missed my shower, too . .. my DH went in my place and my aunt sent me pictures from her cell phone.  I'm glad you get to have the experience!!
