I wake up multiple times in the middle of the night because I've been sleeping on my back, constantly! Hub will even wake me up when he finds me on my back. Sweet, but I'm losing sleep here, and although I'm not sure of the risks I don't want to do anything potentially harmful to the baby. I'm sure you all understand.
So, any comfy pillow suggestions? And preferably ones that aren't too ginormous?
Re: keep sleeping on my back... pillow suggestions?
This early, you are still fine. Your body will tell you when its not good for you anymore!! But if you are worried, there are these little wedge pillows at BRU you can use to keep yourself somewhat on your side!

that's good to know because it seems sleeping on my back is much more comfortable than sleeping on my side...
thanks for the suggestions! I'll take more if y'all are willing to share
I have to agree- I was so uncomfortable sleeping during my first pregnancy but I was convinced that the snoogle would take up too much room in our double bed. Well, DH gave me one for Christmas and it has changed my life! I am so much more well rested- the size doesn't bother me at all either. I really really love my snoogle!
Ditto pp that you don't need to push yourself to sleep on your side if you're comfortable on your back. As my prenatal yoga teacher pointed out - the recommendation is pretty new, and somehow human kind has made it this long.
That said, I get horrible backaches when I sleep on my side, but I couldn't break the habit. I found two helpful pillow placements that kept me on my side. (1) Put a pillow behind your back. Even if you roll over, you'll be at an angle. (2) Put a body pillow diagonally through your legs, so that one end is behind your ankle/calfs, the middle is between your knees, and the other end is in front of you belly. I found this propped me up. Plus, putting a pillow between your legs prevents/helps hip pain that some people have laying on their side. You could probaby use a regular pillow between your knees and sticking out the back.
