3rd Trimester

30th bday a week after due-date...

DH is already bugging me about what i want for my birthday (the big 3-0) and ideally i'd love to go away for a weekend or something, but baby-girl is due right around then, and I can't even think about my birthday - i'm more concerned about hers!

I know he wants to have a party but when would we even do it?  (if at all??) i dont want to plan something and invite people if, when the time comes, i've JUST had the baby...

I know i shouldnt even be stressing about this...  do you ladies have any ideas on what we could do that wouldnt be a huge deal?

thanks...

  • What about staying the night ina nice hotel in town so you don't have to go away but get to do something fun?

  • just plan to go to dinner or have people over if it's easier.  I wouldn't plan a big party too far in advanced though, honestly.  What if you're just too exhausted from just having a baby or are in the process of actually having the baby???

Maybe even ask your hubs if you can celebrate early?  Like a few weekends before or something.  Ya you'll be big and miserable, but that's better than having a week old baby and exhausted! LOL

  • I think you should plan to have the party a month before your birthday, sort of a last bash before baby. :)

  • I'm in the same boat.  My 30th is 2 weeks after my due date.  We have saunas and jacuzzis in our building, so I told DH that I'm planning to have some girlfriends over to do that in the afternoon and then maybe dinner with a small group of friends.

I'm going to do a big celebration on my "half-birthday" (the 6 month mark after my actual birthday).  I think I'll be a lot more ready to celebrate then.
