Ack - I almost forgot...a diamond has fallen

Out of my ring. I am livid.

My e-ring had diamonds in the band as well as the main stones, and one of the diamonds in the band is gone!

We got it from Marks and Morgan (a sister company to Jared's) in October. I am pissed.

Thank God we bought we insurance plan.

That happened to me last year! We too, had an insurance plan on it and the jewelry store replaced it FREE of charge because our insurance took care of it. Good planning!!!

Do your prongs share your diamonds? They said that it will happen from time to time because "shared prongs" will move with all of the diamonds.

I lost the center stone out of my ring in MEXICO and the little bitc* at the counter tried to tell me "Because you weren't in the US, we can't cover you."   OH HELL NO!  I made her read the fine print to me in the store, infront of god and everyone.  She wasn't pleased but I certainly was hehe

Should they cover it? Most jewelry stores will fix it for free. I think if you got it checked every 6months and if a stone falls out they replace it.

I've had that happen, too! DH bought me a right-hand ring for Christmas last year. One month later, I dropped it on the bathroom floor and 3 of the diamonds popped out. I was devastated! We took the ring to Helzberg Diamonds and fixed it for free since we had the insurance plan.

My e-ring and wedding band are both from Zales and I've taken them both in to be rhodium-plated multiple times (they are white gold) to bring back the sparkle from when they were new. It's been free every time!

Word to the wise: NEVER EVER miss your 6-month inspections. My diamond earrings are from Jared's and we forgot about the inspection so the insurance is invalid now. Boo!

Before we got married, my big stone fell out of my engagement ring. We had purchased it locally, from a jeweler we've dealt with for years, but thankfully we had gotten it insured through Alfa. However, when we filed a claim, they wanted to pick out the new stone and it wasn't going to be quite as big as the one I'd lost (which also meant it wouldn't fit in the setting)! We pitched a fit and they cut us a check instead... it was for more than DH had payed for the ring, but less than what it was insured for? What's the point in paying premiums on a certain amount (we had to pay for an appraisal to get the insurance in the 1st place) and then not paying out? I was livid! I did get a beautiful new diamond though! Hope you get yours taken care of with much less hassle!
