I got it at a local baby store during one of their twice-yearly big sales. It was a Pali crib marked down to a great price. I bought it in natural wood and then bought other pieces in natural wood from other lines (a dresser and a changing table.) Not part of the same set, but since they're all the same color, they all match.
After becoming totally frustrated by the options at JCP, Target, BRU, I read the chapter on cribs in Baby Bargains and found a local children's furniture store that sells Baby's Dream brand (which got fantastic reviews).
I got it at babycenterstore.com, but they're not online anymore! The crib I got is available at a lot of on-line stores, though. It's the DaVinci Anastasia.
found one at target. the only bad thing is that it only has a matching changing table, and no other furniture...so, the search has begun for a match-able dresser and bookshelf.
Craigslist. It takes a little more work, since you have to verify that it meets current safety standards and there are no recalls. But we got a practically new crib for a steal. (We also weren't picky on the design/color, which helped).
