I'm so upset. I failed the 1 hour glucose test

UGH!!!!! I hate this freaking test. With my first pregnancy, I also failed the first, passed the second. I had a HORRIBLE experience with that test. For every single blood draw, the techs could.not.do.it. They poked me all over both arms, and ended up using my hands. My arms were bruised for a week. With my second, I passed the one hour, but a point or two. Now this time, I got a 150. Ugh. What kills me, is for the last month, I was told my baby was in a very low percentile for growth. I was put on modified bedrest. How could I possibly have GD?

Can I get out of this somehow???? I know, wishful thinking. I do *NOT* want to go through the 3 hour again.?

I'm sorry you didn't pass the test, I really don't know if you can get out of the 3 hr test, but maybe if you talk to your doc? GL

Sorry you didn't pass!!  I failed the 1hr with DD too and am so hoping to avoid that 3 hr test with this one.

OMG - no wonder you're upset. That last test is a nightmare! Maybe your doc can make sure your test is scheduled with an experienced tech. GL!

I failed the first one too (after throwing up the stuff the first time and having to re-do it). Luckily for me, the three hour went by really smoothly. I don't think it is wise to try to get out of it, but maybe if you talk to your doctor he can try to make things more comfortable by getting someone who is better at getting blood. I was able to use the same arm for all 4 blood draws, so I know it can be done! GL
