I dont think i have heard anything positive about Hippy. It seems she just likes to go around and cause drama, makes me kinda feel sorry for her. I think she needs to get out more and get some friends.

I don't know why I felt compelled to jump in on the drama but I don't understand why people think is necessary to bring up old issues. ?Regardless of where you stand politically it's OVER. ?I think me and you (SC) are on completely different ends of the political spectrum, but I still think it's sooooo stupid to start old debates for no reason on boards that none of us belong in anymore.

I`m all for lurking and commenting?occasionally, but I`m not gonna go over to 1st tri and bring up crap that happened 7 months ago. it's silly.

And I am very helpful at times.  I have helped many people who are dealing with all sorts of pg & pp related issues.  

I know not everyone is going to like me.  That's just fine.  I don't like everyone on here either.  But what you see is what you get and at least I am upfront and honest about who I am and how I feel.

I just made myself laugh at the "chinese family" complaint.....

Families in China do in fact eat dog much like we in America eat beef. Now families in India don't typically eat beef so if they made the joke, sell their cow to an American family would you be offended?  I wouldn't.  Bring on the beef!

hippy is actually an extremely nice woman.  read her food blog & you'll find her amazingly helpful as well.

she just doesn't take bullshiit and voices her opinion.  nothing wrong with that.

If that's the case then great! I guess I just haven't seen that side of her. 

 

It's there.  I promise.  

And FWIW I did not intend to bring up the siggy pic again today.  I was using it as an example and when people asked for an explanation I gave it.  I did not mean to bring you into it.

My frustration today was with the people who were saying that it was not racist or who didn't see it as offensive.  I'm not ashamed to say that this is a HUGE hot button issue with me and I can't stay silent on it.

And why is racism such a big issue for me?  Because when I was a child and living in Germany, during the height of the terrorist attacks, a wonderful black man protected my family.  He put my life and the life of my brothers and mom in front of his own.  Luckily nothing happened and we were safe. He watched over us for months and waved goodbye as we boarded the plane to come home.   It was a horrible time for me and Sgt. Boyd was my rock.

I never got to thank him.  He died 2 months later of a massive heart attack.  The idea that anyone would judge such a wonderful human being by the color of his skin makes me sad.  And I want to show my children that if you believe passionately in something then it is your duty and your honor to stand up and fight for it.

Uh, I think Hippy is probably one of the most helpful posters on this board.  She knows something about EVERYTHING pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and childcare related and she's always super sweet about helping out.

If it's something that she posted a long time ago why is it coming up again? I did see the pic and I have to say I didn't like it but I have to believe that SC didn't post it to be mean spirited. She's just not that kind of person. At least I don't think so. I'm sorry about the black man who saved your life. I'm sure he was really great. Can you leave SC alone now?

Seriously, when you all have your babies and need help and encouragement, Hippy is the first one to give it.  It's a whole new world once that bambino comes and most of us were not prepared, even if we thought we were.  You are going to need a lot of support.  Whether it's with breastfeeding or sleep or whatever.  Hippy is always supportive and encouraging.  Take this from someone who's been on the receiving end of that encouragement. 

Also, read her food blog.  Your and your DH's tummies will thank her!
