I started to eat more yogurt and drink prune juice with cranberry juice. And it became much less of an issue when I went back to my old prenatals that had a stool softener.
Grapes, grape juice, apple juice, metamucial or any other fiber suppliments help me. My doctor said that you can take colace and milk of magnesia as well. I have tried milk of magnesia and it works great!
I hav been having a terrible time w/ this and the pressure it creates under my boobs and back. They actually sent me for an abdominal scan but organs are ok. My ob said prunes, prune juice, metamucil, colac. My perinatalogist says metamucil and colace daily. Try smaller meals through out day, fiber etc. I drink warm prune juice, seems to give me more relief. I too have heard apples & grapes.
try things that stay kinda the sam going in as they do out- really gross i know, but i have had good luck with popcorn, corn, peas, and beans. In fact my sure cure is three bean burritos from Taco Bell.
Re: What I should/shouldn't eat when constipated?
I was able to get things moving with a combo of A high fiber breakfast bar followed by kiwi and apple juice.
Stay well hydrated. You will be appreciative once things start moving again.
Eat prunes, prune juice, apple juice, whole grains
Don't eat bananas, brocolli
That's what helps me.
