Fight with DH (Vent)

Ok, so we are remodeling our nursery.  Right now the room is stripped down to the studs and filled with construction junk.  We agreed to have it done by mid to late March so we can paint, move in furniture, etc. before the baby gets here. I am starting to freak out and I want to get contractor estimates and get this thing started asap...  Well... apparetly I have to wait until we finish our tax return and find out how much we owe so we can budget.  Heres the kicker-- he said he would do the taxes on Saturday, my stuff is done, his is not and he will not let me help. 

I am so pissed.  I feel like my kid is not going to have a room to sleep in and I really do not want a house full of contractors when I have a newborn.  To top if off, he told me that if I wasn't so needy he would have time to get things done.

Normally, he is great.  Today I want to kick him in the junk.

With the impending baby, my husband is getting much more concerned with money - it sounds like your husband may be the same way. It's annoying, but I think it's his way of trying to be more prudent now that the baby is almost here.

Not to excuse his lashing out at you with the needy comment... but it doesn't sound as bad when you know he's doing it in a way for the baby.

women mentally prepare for a baby long before the nursery is done, we feel the baby and deal with the PG every second of the 40 weeks.

maybe the thought of it being done and in the house makes him stressed. he will see a crib and baby stuff and now have to really see himself as a "dad"

it is a hard transition. just talk to him.

I'd get going on the contractor estimates.  You don't have to decide on one before the taxes are done and you can budget appropriately, but if you have the estimates already, you'll already have all the information to make the decision.  And, as an added bonus, maybe seeing the contractors will pressure your DH to get his part done!
