Okay, so I just got off the phone with BRU -- they said that they are having to return all the snugrides to Graco so Graco can investigate the lead issue -- the products are not recalled, and if you already have a snugride, Graco will inform you/recall the product if they find lead.
That said, the lady also said that the process will take at least a couple of months. If you registered for a snugride at BRU, you'll need to find something different.
Now, I registered for my Snugride through Sears, and they know nothing about the stop-sell. I'm going to go buy my carseats tomorrow morning (especially since my grandparents already bought me the matching stroller). If you have your heart set on a specific pattern, you might want to see if you can find it at another store (seeing as how I don't know anyone who will be feeding their child the carseat base, I don't think the whole lead paint issue is a huge deal -- aside from that, if something comes of it, Graco will be forced to replace or refund your money in a recall).
Good luck!

I wish I didn't have to look for a different one! I registered for the Deco - Travel System. Boo
