2nd Trimester

new(ish) here

hi ladies --

i didn't post on the first tri board because i was still a bit nervous (and in shock) about my pregnancy ... but i'm "out" now, and just wanted to introduce myself.

i had twins one year ago tomorrow, conceived via IVF and born at 33.5 weeks (relatively easy pregnancy ending in a placental abruption) via emergency c-section, followed by a blood transfusion and lots of scary moments.  if anyone has any questions about any of that stuff, feel free to ask!

the twins (a boy and a girl) are doing amazing, and i was shocked to find myself pregnant again right after thanksgiving.  had my NT scan a couple of weeks ago, and everything looks great.  just one baby this time :)

anyway, just wanted to say hi!

  • Hi- Congrats!!   DId the twins share one placenta?  Sorry if that's a dumb question.  How are you feeling?

  • Congratulations and welcome!
  • LoveEeyore... not a dumb question at all.  They didn't share a placenta -- it was my son's placenta (Baby "B") that had the abruption.

I'm feeling pretty good now.  Had terrible morning/ all day sickness until about a week ago, but otherwise everything has been great.  Much different than the first time around -- I was on hormones galore which made all of the symptoms SO much worse!

  • Congrats on your pregnancy.  I have heard of things like this happening to ladies with previous IVF's. Once your body figures it out it's like okay let's get busy!
