Doesn't she claim her kid was "cured" because he changed his diet or something? To me, that means he wasn't autistic to begin with.
DD #1 passed away in January 2011 at 14 days old due to congenital heart disease
DD#2 lost in January 2012 at 23 weeks due to anhydramnios caused by a placental abruption
i dont think she claims he was cured, I think she refers to as remission of sorts. In any case, she is not who I choose to get my medical information from. She has just one of several points of view.
True autism begins to develop around the age of 2. When your child is progressed "normally" to this point and then suddenly regresses, you want answers. Hmm, he just happened to have his vaccinations doene....that must be it! I can not blame parents for wanting answers, or something to blame, but I just can not believe that vaccinations cause autism. Why only in a handful of children in relation to all that get vaccinated?
She just said she was worried after reading the book. ?I didn't see where she called her the vaccination expert or agreed to follow whatever it is that she suggests.
That being said many of my family members are in the medical field and agree that they believe vaccinations can play a part in autism, but they also agree that getting one of the diseases your child is vaccinated for is much more dangerous & more common. ?So that's why I choose to vaccinate.
Didn't you post something you read about last night that was completely wrong? ?That your child won't know your voice for like 2-3 months... what stupid book were you reading?
So you make fun of a woman who is concerned after reading a very popular bestselling book that raises concerns -- but you think the best place to find out how to store your child's food is a website full of strangers who you piss off regularly??!!
Interesting that you post questions looking for real answers to your concerns, yet when someone else raises a concern that they feel is valid, you make fun.
I'm pretty sure the poster didn't say J.M. was her 'expert' but rather that the book left her worried about vacs. Anything can leave you unsettled, even if the source isn't totally factual.
Stop trying to make something out of nothing for your own amusement.
1. Jenny McCarthy believes that a gluten-free diet has helped recover her son. Many people say this regarding their children with autism. However, it may be that people with autism all have celiac disease that is improvedby a gluten free diet. WHen they feel better, they act better.
2. The recent high-proile case of vaccine injury showed the girl to have a mitochondrial disorder, which when complicated by a reaction to vaccines, triggered her autism. This is one of the avenues of research that science should pursue.
3. Even the vice-pres. of Autism Speaks resigned because the organization wants more $ spent on vaccine - autism research, but she accepts that there is no link. She thinks Autism Speaks could fund more fruitful research.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
THis is what I've never understood about Mod. For a lady who lives in a glass house she throws A LOT of stones. For this reason alone I don't feel bad about making fun of her stupidity.
