I used to wait 10-15 minutes because DS had to be in DEEP sleep before I could put him down. Now that he's a little older I only have to wait a minute or so because even if he wakes a little, he's good at going right back to sleep.
the past two nights, i haven't put him into his bed. he has slept on me on the recliner on the sofa. i said i would never co-sleep but no sleep would be taking place if i tried to put him down.
I usually wait a few minutes but it is just as much for me as it is for her. I enjoy watching her sleep and spending that time together before bed. Someday it may bite me in the butt, but for now it seems fine

That's pretty normal for a 1 week old. It took about 3-4 weeks until I could get DS to go down in his pack n play or crib. good luck!
Ehhh depends on the night. I try to wait 10 minutes sometimes I put her down sooner like 2 or 3 minutes. At bedtime she stays asleep alot better than at nap time. Naptime I def wait longer. At bedtime it's honestly cause I want to just snuggle with her and kiss her.
