2nd Trimester

anterior placenta ladies- please come in

i know it is normal to not feel as much, but i have been feeling little stuff for a few weeks and just wish it would become stronger or consistent

1) when did you consistently feel the baby?

2) when did you feel what you would call kicks and not just little flicks or flutters?

3) when could you feel the baby from the outside?  your H?

thanks!!

Re: anterior placenta ladies- please come in

  • With DS it was around 24-25 weeks when I finally starting to feel him all the time. DH could feel him around 30 weeks.

  • 1. I consistently started feeling him around 20-21 weeks.

    2. Full blown kicks came at 22 weeks.

    3. DH can feel the baby move from the outside all the time now. The first time was about 22.5 weeks.

Side Note: I haven't felt baby as much over the last few days, but I'm sure it's because he changed positions. I usually feel his kicks on my lower left side and lately they have been more in my pelvic region. I'm guessing he's sitting breech right now or something.

  • A lot of people do not feel the strong kicks until late int he 2nd tri or even into the 3rd tri.  Do you have an anterior placenta or are you guessing that you do?

For me, I never felt the strong karate type kicks that people described.  I think that is because I did have the anterior placenta.  I felt movement inside all the time, though.  My DH really did not feel things until mid into my 3rd tri.  But who cares- as long as you feel movement!  You are still very early and the baby is pretty small to feel big kicks yet anyway.

  • 1) felt the baby consistently around 21 w2) kicks started about 20 w3) dh had not felt the baby yet. he probably could, but i know later he will feel the baby so easily i don't want to have him sit there with his hand on my belly waiting. and it is so light right now.i had anterior placenta with DD as well. i felt her sooner b/c i was thinner.?

  • I felt flutters around 18-19 wks.

    Definetly felt movement 20wks.

    DH felt him at 21wks.

I felt him more consistently 22wks.  Yesterday was the most movement I have felt yet.  he was moving and flipping all over.

  • Felt flutters around 17-18 weeks.  Movement by 19 for certain.  DH could feel around 21 weeks or so.  I still don't feel like I feel her kick "enough" and I worry, but all of the checks have been normal and I need to chill out.
