hi ladies, i posted this third tri and 0-6. i thought perhaps more of you would have this monitor. we ordered it a while back b/c of pre-term labor and concern of delivering early...knowing some of the risks associated w/ preemies.
here's my question...i know you have to have a hard/flat surface under the mattress to ensure it works properly, we did this for her crib. my question is, did you also do this for the pack n play? our plan is to have her sleep in there in our room for while at first. tia!

We used ours in the bassinet. It had a flat surface than we put the pad under the thin mattress, it worked well. I am sure you could put a thin piece of plywood under the PnP mattress. I am sure that would work fine.
Great choice on the monitor. I love ours. It has allowed me several hours of good sleep. It totally eases my mind knowing that if he stops breathig it will alert me.
We only used the monitor in the PNP when we traveled because the only time he slept in it at home was in the living room when we were awake and watching him. We just took the wood plank from under his regular crib mattress with us and used that - worked just fine :-)
We had a thin piece of plywood cut to the size of the pnp and put it under the bassinett area. It worked just ok. And by that I mean that by the nature of the fact that it's in a pnp, suspended mid-air, it was more sensitive to outside vibrations and would sometimes pickup the movement of your footsteps, the fan, etc so it would detect breathing even if none was present. We had to lower the sensitivity a little to get it to work right and then got a few false alarms. We only used it a little in the pnp because in the beginning he ended up sleeping in his carseat (which we placed in the bassinett of the pnp) due to reflux.
The angelcare works great in his crib (we put the piece of plywood from the pnp underneath it in the crib too).
